Casablanca’s Hassan II Mosque is a sight you certainly don’t want to miss. The second largest mosque in the world, it was [fb01] nished in 1993 after [fb01] ve years of labour by 6,000 craftsmen. It is one of the few mosques in Morocco that is open to non-Muslim visitors, but only as part of a guided tour. There are four per day, Sunday to Thursday. The Hassan II Mosque can accommodate 25,000 worshippers inside and 80,000 more can [fb01] t in the esplanades around it.

The Museum of Anthropology in Luanda is home to an insightful collection of African art and handicrafts. It is housed in an old colonial building with an open courtyard and a gallery where a complete traditional Angolan village has been reconstructed. It’s open seven days a week and admission is free, but tipping the guides is recommended.

The menu: North Indian cooking concentrates on vegetables, yogurt, creams, and mild spicing, with a lot of dishes cooked in a tandoor clay oven. The chefs at Khyber Pass have particularly excelled at kebabs, chicken tikka masala and garlic naan (traditional [fb02] at bread). There is also a continental menu for those who want to try something a little different.
Atmosphere: The alfresco dining area is ideal for those wanting a quiet venue for a business meeting, while inside the restaurant can seat up to 150 and is a great spot to take the family for an Indian feast.
Expect to pay: Dinner for two, including drinks, will set you back approximately €13.80 (sh30,000).

Don’t leave Nairobi without trying a Dawa cocktail. Dawa translates somewhere between medicine and magic in Kiswahili, and this cocktail, made with a blend of vodka, lime, ice and honey, is just what the doctor ordered. Nairobi’s famous Carnivore Restaurant (Langata Road, Tel: +254 20 605 933-7) is the place to try the Dawa, as it’s where the drink was first introduced to Kenya.

Style of cuisine: French The menu: The restaurant is owned by talented young chefs Alban Galpin and Jérôme Grayo. The pair pride themselves on using local produce in a menu consisting of subtle [fb02] avours. The butter-roasted gambas (prawns) lightly fried in Champagne are highly recommended.
Atmosphere: A friendly restaurant located in the residential part of the Bonapriso district. Ideal for intimate dinners, whether it’s for business or pleasure.
Expect to pay: Dinner for two, including drinks, will set you back approximately €80 (52,477 XAF).
Style de cuisine: française Le menu: les deux jeunes talentueux chefs Alban Galpin et Jérôme Grayo sont les propriétaires du restaurant. Ils sont réputés pour leur intransigeance, n’utilisant que des produits locaux dans leurs plats. Vous apprécierez les saveurs subtiles des gambas (crevettes géantes) grillées au beurre, relevées d’une subtile touche de Champagne. Hautement recommandé!
