JOHAN VERMINNEN
Belgian singer songwriter Johan Verminnen’s was discovered by Belgian music mogul, Jean Klüger in 1969. He released his first solo album in 1970 to widespread acclaim, and went on to score several huge hits, including his ode to Brussels ‘In de rue des Bouchers’. Having narrowly avoided bankruptcy in the 80s, he became a vocal critic of Belgian taxation policies, but has since re-ignited his career, most recently releasing a retrospective album celebrating 30 years on stage.
La carrière de chanteur et de compositeur du Belge Johan Verminnen s’étend sur presque sur trois décades. Il est découvert par le gourou de la scène musicale en Belgique, Jean Klüger en 1969. Il enregistre son premier album solo en 1970, tout de suite il conquiert le coeur d’un large public. Il collectionnera encore quelques grands hits, parmi lesquels son ode à Bruxelles In de rue des Bouchers. Après avoir échappé à la faillite en 1980, il devient le chantre de la lutte contre la politique de taxation en Belgique. Depuis lors, il a repris sa carrière, avec la sortie récente d’un album rétrospective célébrant 30 ans de scène.

BRUCE HORNSBY
Born in 1977, John Mayer began playing the
guitar at 13. He briefly enrolled in Berklee
College of Music, but soon abandoned his
studies to move to Atlanta, where he recorded
an independent EP Inside Wants Out, going on
to win a contract with Columbia. His first album
Room for Squares won both critical acclaim and
commercial success. Since then, the three time
Grammy Award winning singer has formed the
John Mayer Trio, moving towards a more bluesbased
sound. Their latest album, Continuum, was
released last September.
Né en 1977, John Mayer a commencé à jouer de la guitare à 13 ans. Il entame des études au Berklee College of Music, mais il choisit d’arrêter et de déménager direction Atlanta. Là -bas, il enregistre un EP (extended play) sous label indépendant Inside Wants Out, avec l’objectif de remporter un contrat avec Columbia. Son premier album Room for Squares a reçu à la fois l’acclamation de la critique et du public. Depuis lors, le chanteur trois fois lauréat des Grammy Award a formé le John Mayer Trio, marqué par un son plus blues. Leur dernier album, Continuum, est sorti en septembre dernier.
