Made In Belgium

Son of classical composer Norbert Goddaer, Belgian musician Ozark Henry was born in 1970. At the age of six he started music school to study saxophone and piano, but quit aged 13 to pursue a love of mathematics and old languages. Fortunately he didn’t abandon music forever, and after forming several different bands, he finally began his solo career in 1995. His first album was released in 1996 and Henry was compared to David Bowie. His latest and fifth album, The Soft Machine, was released last September and went gold on pre-sales orders alone.

Fils d’un compositeur classique, Norbert Goddaer, le musicien belge Ozark Henry est né en 1970. A l’âge de six ans il entre à l’académie de musique pour apprendre le saxophone et le piano, mais arrête à l’âge de 13 ans pour poursuivre sa passion des mathématiques et des langues anciennes. Fort heureusement, il n’abandonne pas la musique, et après avoir formé différents groupes, il démarre une carrière solo en 1995. Lorsque son premier album sort en 1996, on compare Henry à David Bowie. Son dernier et cinquième album, The Soft Machine, a été lancé en septembre dernier et il était déjà disque d’or, en ne tenant compte que des préventes.

Daughter to a French father and an Indian mother, Nerina Pallot grew up on Jersey, before moving to boarding school and then on to art college in London. It was here that she recorded her first album Dear Frustrated Superstar. However it was her second album, Fires, and the single ‘Everybody’s Gone To War’, recorded on her own Idaho label that brought her mainstream attention. The album was originally released in 2005, but brought her success and acclaim on its re-issue when she signed to 14th Floor Records in 2006.
