Born into a musical family in New York in 1951, Mark Isham soon excelled at his signature instrument, the trumpet. Over the decades, Isham pioneered an experimental sound, releasing both solo and group material, and collaborating with artists like Van Morrison. Isham is now one of Hollywood’s top movie composers, and is credited with the emotive film scores from Crash, The Black Dahlia and The River Runs Through It, for which he received an Academy Award nomination.
Né dans une famille de musiciens à New York en 1951, Mark Isham a rapidement excellé dans l’art de jouer de la trompette, son instrument fétiche. Au cours des décennies, il s’est imposé comme un pionnier du son expérimental. Il a sorti à la fois des productions solo et de groupe, en collaboration avec des artistes comme Van Morrison, notamment. Isham figure aujourd’hui parmi les plus grands compositeurs de musique de film d’Hollywood. Young British pop sensation Jack McManus released his debut album Either Side of Midnight in 2008. Since then, his star his been in the ascendant, as he’s toured with the likes of Scouting For Girls and co-written for dance legends Groove Armada. Born in 1984 near Bromley, south-east London, Jack’s musical abilities earned him a place at famous performing arts institution The Brit School. Initially intending to write, but not perform his own songs, Jack was persuaded to sing his own material when he sought out a record deal. Now his mixture of unashamedly feel-good pop tunes and soulful ballads have ensured his success as one of the UK’s most promising singer-songwriters.
Jeune prodige britannique de la pop, Jack McManus a sorti son premier album Either Side of Midnight en 2008. Depuis lors, son étoile n’a pas faibli : il est parti en tournée avec des groupes rock indépendants comme Scouting For Girls et il a co-écrit pour Groove Armada, les légendes du Big Beat. Né en 1984 près de Bromley, au sud-est de Londres, Jack manifeste très tôt des dons musicaux qui lui vaudront d’entrer à la Brit School, célèbre institution des arts de la scène. Son intention initiale était d’écrire ses chansons mais pas de les interpréter. Les producteurs à qui il est venu présenter ses démos l’ont persuadé du contraire.
